Why in the News?

APLA@50 Outreach Connect is a flagship student engagement programme.
Commemorates the Golden Jubilee of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly (1975–2025).
Aims to connect youth with democratic institutions, governance, and civic duties.

Youth Engagement:
- Builds political awareness among students.
- Encourages youth to participate in shaping Arunachal’s future.
- Highlights constitutional values and democratic responsibilities.
Golden Jubilee Significance:
- Celebrates 50 years of the State Legislative Assembly.
- Strengthens links between:
  - Legislature
  - Academia
  - Younger generation
Promotes understanding of state governance and public policy.

Strengthening Grassroots Democracy:
- Enhances youth understanding of:
  - Legislative processes,
  - Functions of the Assembly,
  - Civic duties and responsibilities.
- Bridges the gap between policymakers and youth.

Civic Education & Nation-Building:
- Encourages – Responsible citizenship, Political maturity, awareness of rights and duties.

Promoting Peace in Eastern Arunachal:
- Tirap district lies in the Tirap-Changlang-Longding (TCL) region.
- This region faces challenges of insurgency, youth alienation, and underdevelopment.
- Such programmes build trust, reduce alienation, and strengthen democratic participation.

Established: 15^th August, 1975.
Key institution for law-making, governance, and reforms.
Plays a major role in tribal welfare, infrastructure, and border development.
