SCHEME OF PRELIMINARY EXAM

The Preliminary Examination will consist of a single objective-type paper on “General Studies.” It will include 200 multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 200 marks. The duration of the exam will be 2.5 hours (two and a half hours). Further, The paper will be set at the level of knowledge expected from a graduate of any recognized university.

Exam Pattern & Marks Distribution

The Preliminary Examination serves as a screening test for selecting candidates for the Main Examination. Hence, the marks obtained in this exam are not considered for the final selection. Furthermore, only those candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination will be eligible for admission to the Main Examination.

Educational Qualification for Tripura Public Service Commission CCE

(a) Essential: Candidates must possess a degree from a recognized university.
(b) Desirable: In addition, the Candidate’s proficiency in Bengali, English, or Kokborok lan is preferred.

Age Limit:

Candidates must be between 21 and 40 years old, based on their Madhyamik, Higher Secondary, or equivalent examination certificate/admit card. Besides, the upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC, ST, Differently Abled (PH) candidates, and Government Servants. However, Government Servants belonging to SC/ST/Differently Abled (PH) categories shall not receive any additional relaxation beyond the standard 5-year relaxation.

Note: In addition, one position is reserved for female candidates.

Tripura PSC (TPSC) Mains Exam Pattern & Topics Covered

The TPSC Mains Exam is a written exam that consists of eight papers, including Essay and Precis Writing in English, English Composition, Indian Constitution and Political System, Five-Year Plan, Bengali Composition and Translation, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, and three optional papers.

To the end, the third and final stage of the Tripura PSC Recruitment process is the Interview or Personality Test. Aspirants who qualify for the Mains (written) exam appear in the Interview Test.
