APSC Result 2024 Cancelled and Reissued
The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) witnessed an unprecedented situation during the declaration of the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 final result, causing confusion and anxiety among thousands of aspirants across Assam. The commission initially released the result on 16 February 2026, abruptly cancelled it the same day due to an “inadvertent error,” and later issued the revised and final result on 17 February 2026.
This rare sequence of events made the APSC CCE 2024 result one of the most discussed civil services results in recent years.
Why Did APSC Cancel the Results? Here’s What Happened
The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) recently withdrew the APSC CCE result shortly after its declaration, raising concerns and confusion among candidates and the public.
The result was released on Monday afternoon, and several candidates began celebrating their selection. However, within a short time, APSC issued an official notification cancelling the result after identifying discrepancies in the published merit list.
The cancellation was linked to the implementation of reservation policies. According to a recent government directive, two posts were reserved for candidates from the Moran community under the Moran–Matak category. However, in the initially released result, no Moran candidate was included, and all four reserved posts were allotted to candidates from the Matak community.
To ensure compliance with reservation norms, the commission decided to cancel the result and review the selection list. In the revised merit list, two candidates from the Moran community were included as per the reservation policy, which led to the exclusion of two Matak candidates who were initially recommended.
The corrected and final APSC Result 2024 was released on 17 February 2026, resolving the issue and confirming the official selection list.
