What Are The Eligibility Criteria?

(a) Nationality & Domicile

  • Must be an Indian citizen
  • Must be an original inhabitant of Assam
  • Must be registered at a District Employment Office of Assam
  • Must be able to speak Assamese or other official/associate/tribal languages of Assam

(b) Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025)

  • Minimum: 21 years
  • Maximum: 38 years

Age Relaxations:

  • SC/STP/STH candidates: up to 43 years (5-year relaxation)
  • OBC/MOBC candidates: up to 41 years (3-year relaxation)
  • PwBD candidates: up to 10 years relaxation (irrespective of category)

Age will be calculated based on Matriculation/HSLC/HSSLC Admit Card or Pass Certificate/Marksheet only. No other document will be accepted.

(c) Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold a Degree from a recognized University — Central or State University, or an institution declared as Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.

Women candidates are fully exempt from application fees as per APSC CCE Amendment Rules, 2019. Fee once paid is non-refundable.

How to Apply for APSC CCE 2025-26

Applications must be submitted online only via https://apscrecruitment.in. No other mode is valid.

Step-by-step guide:

  1. Visit https://apscrecruitment.in
  2. Complete the One Time Registration (OTR) if not already done — use a valid, active email address and mobile number
  3. Log in with your registered credentials
  4. Fill in the application form carefully — mandatory fields are marked with (*)
  5. Upload required documents in PDF format (max 4 MB, 200 dpi greyscale)
  6. Upload your recent photograph (50–200 KB, not older than 3 months) and signature (50–200 KB)
  7. Preview all entries using the Preview option before final submission
  8. Click Proceed to Pay and complete the fee payment
  9. Save the confirmation and take a printout of the submitted application for future reference

No edits are permitted after final submission. Review everything carefully before clicking submit.

Documents Required

Upload the following in PDF format at the time of application:

  • Age proof: Class 10/12 Pass Certificate, Admit Card, or Marksheet (with DOB clearly mentioned)
  • Graduation/Degree Certificate with all semester/year marksheets (combined in a single PDF)
  • Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable)
  • PwBD Certificate issued by the competent authority (if applicable)
  • BPL Certificate (if applicable)
  • Small Family Norms declaration — Form A
  • Valid Employment Exchange Registration Card
  • PRC/Caste Certificate (as proof of original inhabitant of Assam)
  • Undertaking (for candidates already employed in Government Service/Public Enterprises)

Examination Pattern

Stage 1 — Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)

The Prelims is a screening test only. Marks scored here are not counted in the final merit list.

*Paper-II is of a qualifying nature — minimum 33% marks required to pass.

Negative Marking Rules:

  • 1/4th of the mark allotted to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer
  • Marking more than one answer to a single question will be treated as a wrong answer

Stage 2 — Main Examination (Written + Interview)

Candidates shortlisted from the Prelims (11–12 times the number of vacancies per category) will be called for the Main Examination.

  • Answer papers can be written in English or Assamese
  • Interview/Personality Test is called in a 1:3 ratio against vacancies
  • Final ranking is based on the combined marks of the Written Examination + Interview

Exam Centres — Preliminary Examination

Another key point is that the Prelims will be conducted across multiple centres in Assam:

Amingaon, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Biswanath Chariali, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Diphu, Goalpara, Golaghat, Guwahati, Haflong, Hailakandi, Hamren, Hatsingimari, Hojai, Jorhat, Kajalgaon, Kokrajhar, Majuli, Mangaldoi, Morigaon, Mushalpur, Nagaon, Nalbari, North Lakhimpur, Pathsala, Silchar, Sivasagar, Sonari, Sribhumi, Tamulpur, Tezpur, Tinsukia, and Udalguri.

However, the Main Examination will be held at the Guwahati Centre only. Hence, candidates cannot request a change of centre once allotted.
