Arunachal Pradesh Governor K. T. Parnaik implemented a central directive renaming his official residence as ‘Lok Bhavan’. The decision to this effect was taken in pursuance of a communication from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The renaming symbolises a shift towards people-centric governance, emphasising that constitutional authorities function in the service of the public.

About Lok Bhavan:

Lok Bhavan
  • The Lok Bhavan, Itanagar, is the official residence of His Excellency the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh.
  • It is located on a hillock close to a historical monument known as ‘Ita-Fort’ (Eastern Gate).
